Your Foundations.
Three simple habits. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just show up to these consistently and your faith will grow roots.
The Bible is God speaking directly to you. It sounds like a lot, but you don't need to read it all at once, and you definitely don't need to understand every word. A few verses a day, read slowly, will do more for you than trying to power through chapters you won't remember.
Start here: Begin with the book of Matthew, the very first book of the New Testament. It tells the story of Jesus's life, His teaching, and His miracles in a way that's easy to follow from the very first page.
Recommended translation: Look for the NLT (New Living Translation). It's written in clear, modern English, so nothing gets lost trying to decode old-fashioned language.
While you get your hands on a physical Bible, download one of these free apps and start reading today. Both are free and include the NLT translation, just search "NLT" once you open one.

Prayer is just talking to God, out loud, in your head, in the car, wherever. There's no special vocabulary required and no way to do it wrong. He is not grading your grammar. He just wants to hear from you.
If you don't know where to start, Jesus actually gave us a template for it. It's often called The Lord's Prayer, and it's a great place to begin every single day.
"Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen." The Lord's Prayer · Matthew 6:9–13
